    We recently got to share a few thoughts with Print Magazine about why we decided to enter our work in last year's Print Regional Design Annual (Print RDA).


    Here’s Brian on why the Print RDA was so worthwhile:


    Why did you enter the RDA?

    The PRINT RDA competition is an opportunity to have our work judged and compared to the best work in the country. We strive for creative excellence and it is a chance to see how our work is thought of by our peers. Being featured in the RDA is validation for lots of hard work.


    What do you see as the benefits of the RDA?

    There is great opportunity for exposure. It allows our work to reach further. It’s attractive to new talent for our firm to say that we not only enter our work, but occasionally win.

    We got to represent the South with two projects last year, with recognition for the brand identities we created for Oxlot 9 and McKenzie Miller Films. We’re looking forward to seeing what 2016 RDA holds!

    Addys - 2016, Bail Bond Brothers and UNCSA

    We recently joined some of our talented colleagues at the Grand Bohemian Hotel for the Birmingham Addys. It's always a treat to spend an evening with our creative community and get some fresh inspiration from the innovative things everyone is doing. Some of our own work was acknowledged that evening, and we brought home two Addys—one for the branding for Bail Bond Brothers and another for the poster campaign we created for the University of North Carolina School of the Arts (UNCSA).


    Behind the Addys: Bail Bond Brothers

    The Bail Bond Brothers project really allowed us to flex our creative muscles. Let's be honest, bail bondsmen aren't known for great design. That allowed us to create something unique for the industry. We started with the name of the company—Bail Bond Brothers—something that emphasized the support provided by the company while also creating some catchy alliteration. From there, we created a logo and a series of different collateral pieces that the client could leave at area jails. Tag lines, like "Don't Call Your Mother, Call Your Brothers," and "You're in Good Company" (accompanied by photos of Jimi Hendrix, Elvis Presley, and Johnny Cash) helped lighten otherwise serious circumstances.


    Behind the Addys: UNCSA Poster Campaign

    When UNCSA approached us, they were looking for a way to promote a social media campaign. Using the hashtag #wecreatehere, they wanted to encourage students to share their work with the school and one another, in turn fostering a more robust creative community. We created a series of posters and environmental graphics that highlighted the many facets of the fine arts—from the visual arts to theater to ballet. It allowed us to create bright and visually interesting artwork that helped build and inspire their artistic community.

    We are excited and honored to represent the South with two projects in the Print Regional Design Annual: brand identity work for McKenzie Miller Films in Brooklyn, NY and Oxlot 9 in Covington, LA!
